The U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has awarded Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems of Woburn, Mass., a $402 million contract modification to continue planning for maintenance and testing of the nationโs defense shield, according to a July 31 release from the Defense Department.
The money will be used for โsoftware maintenance, models and simulations, engineering support and Ballistic Missile Defense System test planning, execution and analysis for X-Band radars,โ the announcement said.
The modification increases the total value of the contract to $710 million. It runs through Oct. 2016.
