The Tauri Group of Alexandria, Va., knocked off longtime incumbent Futron Corp. of Bethesda, Md., to win a contract worth up to $6.2 million to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Commercial Space Transportation.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract calls for the Tauri Group to provide analytical services in support of the launch reports, market forecasts and other publications the FAAโ€™s Office of Commercial Space Transportation produces throughout the year. Tauri also will maintain the FAAโ€™s Space Transportation Analysis and Research database and support the Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee.

The contract, which begins June 1, has a one-year base period of performance. A series of options could extend the deal through May 2015. FAA spokesman James Stasny said the contract was awarded May 18.
