Commercial remote sensing firm GeoEye of Dulles, Va., said April 24 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with geospatial solutions provider Rolta of Mumbai, India, to develop products and services for defense and homeland security customers in โhigh-growth global markets, beginning with India.โ
โRolta has been engaged in providing geospatial solutions for over two decades,โ Preetha Pulusani, Roltaโs chief strategy officer, said in a statement. โImagery plays a critical role โ especially for defense and homeland security โ to enable users to rapidly analyze change, visualize impacts and make informed decisions in the field in a timely manner. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with GeoEye to provide our customers with tools and content to meet their most challenging needs.โ
Rolta also plans to use GeoEye satellite imagery to develop commercial 3-D products for the urban planning, construction and infrastructure development markets.
