Earth observation imagery and services provider GeoEye said March 6 that it has received a multiyear, multimillion-dollar contract from GE Aviation to supply terrain maps of the worldโ€™s busiest airports.

The agreement allows GE Aviation to imbed airport terrain and obstacle databases produced from GeoEyeโ€™s stereo satellite imagery into next-generation navigation and flight-management products and services.

Herndon, Va.-based GeoEye said in a press release announcing the deal that it expects to capture all of the worldโ€™s International Air Transport Association airports during the next decade.
