Harris Corp. of Melbourne, Fla., has received $20 million in orders from the U.S. Army’s Project Manager-MRAP to provide Falcon 3 AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radios and AN/VRC-114 vehicular amplifier adapters for use in Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles.
PM-MRAP is acquiring the radios and related vehicular gear to provide the ability to upgrade to satellite communications through the U.S. military’s Mobile User Objective System. The radios will provide satellite communications on-themove capability to MRAPs, and could make streaming video, simultaneous voice and data feeds, collaborative chat and connectivity to secure networks available to crew members.
