The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has issued a worldwide call for experiments to be conducted aboard the international space stationโ€™s Japanese Experiment Module, Kibo, in 2014 or later. JAXA is soliciting proposals that โ€œmake full use of the Kiboโ€™s unique environment that will have major impacts on science, technology, industry and society.โ€

NASA said in a May 2 statement that it is encouraging U.S. investigators to participate on international research teams, but cannot guarantee funding. Proposals are due by June 29.
