According to Florida Today, NASA Kennedy Space Center Robert Cabana told employees the venerable facility is ready to do its part to usher in a new era where astronaut transport to and from low Earth orbit is carried out by private companies rather than by the space agency.

Speaking via closed circuit television, Cabana said โ€œI know this transition is going to be hard. Itโ€™s going to be extremely difficult, and itโ€™s going to be sad. But we will get through it, and we will have a good future once we get there,โ€ according to the story.
