ASTRA 1K โ€“ which is one of the worldโ€™s largest telecommunications satellites — was stranded in an incorrect orbit by its launch vehicle on Nov. 26.ย  Orbital Recovery Corp. is proposing a mission using its SLES spacecraft to boost ASTRA 1K from its current 290-km. circular orbit to the correct 35,000-km. geostationary orbit altitude.
