Robert R. Cleave has been named vice president of new business and advanced programs for Lockheed Martin Commercial Space.

In this new role, he now leads the companyโ€™s Commercial Space divisionโ€™s efforts in customer engagement, offer development, business strategies, marketing and sales, and advanced programs. The Commercial Space division builds and launches all of Lockheed Martinโ€™s commercial communication and remote sensing satellites.

Previously, Cleave was president of Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services, a wholly owned company within Lockheed Martin Corp. In that position, he managed all Atlas launch service contracts for non-U.S. government customers and all Athena launch service contracts for government customers. He also led the companyโ€™s long-range planning efforts and customer engagement strategies.

Before joining Lockheed Martin, Cleave was a satellite engineer at Rockwell International and founded XTAR LLC, which provides X-band satellite capacity to the U.S. and allied governments.
