Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE:ย SAIC) announced today the appointment ofย David Rayย as senior vice president, Space Business Unit, reporting toย Michael LaRouche, president of SAICโs National Security and Space sector. In his new role, Ray will manage SAICโs newly formed Space Business Unit, which combines the companyโs civilian, defense and intelligence space operations under one organization.
Ray brings extensive space and leadership experience to SAIC and its $1.3 billion space business. He has worked with prominent space organizations such as the National Reconnaissance Office, NASA, and the U.S. Space Force. Most recently, Ray served as president, Government and Defense, at Flir Systems, where he led all aspects of the companyโs government and defense business, including mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, Ray held leadership positions with Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services; Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems; Raytheon Missile Systems; and Booz Allen Hamilton.
At SAIC, Ray will lead the team delivering some of the nationโs most advanced space services andย will broaden those offerings across all customers. Well-known programs like GPS,ย space-track.org, NASAโs Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrationโs climate modeling capabilities are supported by SAIC experts.ย
Ray brings a diverse background to accelerate the companyโs ability to leverage its heritage to deliver the insights and expertise gained from one space customer to the emerging needs of another.
