According to this Houston Chronicle report, Texas officials are feeling slighted in the wake of the U.S. governmentโ€™s recent announcement of $15 million in federal aid for Florida workers dislocated by changes in NASAโ€™s human spaceflight program and believe the Obama administrationโ€™s motives are political. Houston, which hosts NASAโ€™s Johnson Space Center, has received no such promises despite the fact that it too, will be affected by the space shuttleโ€™s impending retirement.

The following quote, attributed to Bob Mitchell, head of the Bay Area Economic Partnership in Houston, says it all: โ€œThis is a political statement by the White House and an attempt by this administration to divide the states.โ€
