Integral Systems Inc.โs chief executive officer has been charged with two misdemeanor sex offenses.
Most of the news was contained in a seven-line notification sent Nov. 18 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Steven Chamberlain has been charged with a fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault, the company notification said. Trial is scheduled for January 2006.
The notification said Chamberlain โmaintains his innocence and has stated that he will vigorously fight the charges.โ The companyโs board of directors has appointed a committee of independent directors to advise the company on the matter, the notification added.
โThis is a personal matter for Steve and in no way affects our business. We continue to execute our contracts with our customers,โ Peter Gaffney, Integralโs chief operating officer, said Nov. 21.
Integral builds satellite ground systems for command and control, integration and test, data processing and simulation.
Chamberlain faces up to a year in prison and up to $1,000 in fines if convicted.
