China aims to intensify its exchanges and cooperation with other nations in aerospace engineering โ€œon the basis of mutual benefit, peaceful use and common development,โ€ Wu Ping, a spokeswoman for Chinaโ€™s manned space program, said Sept. 28.

Wu cited Chinaโ€™s collaboration with countries such as Russia and Germany since it launched its manned space program in 1992, and said, โ€œWe will further seek exchanges and cooperation with other countries to jointly promote the development of manned space flight technologies.โ€

The state-run Xinhua news service reported on her remarks at northwest Chinaโ€™s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center the day before the scheduled launch of Tiangong-1, Chinaโ€™s first space lab module, which Xinhua said will carry 300 flags from the International Astronautical Federation.
